"Oh Baby!" ft. Olive Design Co.

A few last minute baby items to be packed, set up and put into place for the arrival of our little one! The nesting process is so fun this time around, with my first pregnancy I truly never got that "nesting" bug and this time around we've had it non-stop! My husband sure appreciates this spotless home!

This sweet hand-painted addition to our nursery is created by the talented Alfa of Olive Design Co. The special part is that my husband picked this print out himself! When I asked him why this design was his favorite his words were "Isn't this the perfect way to explain becoming a parent all over again?" and I don't think he's ever been more spot on in his life! Oh baby! This is exactly how we felt once finding out we were expecting again so soon after trying, how we felt at our first ultrasound, when my bump finally popped, it's how we will feel when I go into labor, when I bring this little one into the world and for moments big and small for the rest of his or her life. Having this sweet and quirky little message to display to remind us that all those "Oh Baby!" moments are well worth our time (and lack of sleep..).

Click HERE to see the rest of what Olive Design Co. has to offer!

These moments before birth are nostalgic to me as I busy myself with decorating and cleaning away and trying to imagine what life as a family of four will mean for us. But "Oh Baby!" are we ready.

The Moment it Feels Real ft. Boho Cheeks

Is there a moment during pregnancy that makes your future feel more real than installing your little one's car seat into your car? It truly makes the last three trimesters feel worth every little ache and pain as you remind yourself.. it really is almost over. At any point in time this little human can come into your world and they will remain here forever. They are no longer a thought!

Something that I remember from our postpartum journey with our first born was that we were severely under prepared. We had Carter in February in Idaho, that means that it's cold.. very cold. It's windy, often snowing, and feels like winter at it's harshest. We had taken loads of information in about car seat safety and had never stopped to think about how we could safely protect him from the elements, even if the trip from the house to the car was a short one. We were stuck then throwing blankets over his car seat and often coming too close to slipping our grip on the handle. Then to top it all off we couldn't even see him while he was covered by the blanket that was there to keep him warm. Essentially.. it was a disaster.

This time around I was well aware that giving birth to a November baby meant that a car seat cover was not only a necessity but a life saver and that is when we were introduced to Boho Cheeks! I have never in my life seen a cover that allows you to have full grip of the seat, remains thick enough to fill a purpose and can be moved whenever you see fit! You can tell the true genius of this product because it was made by mothers, for mothers. These three New-York based moms know the struggle and came together to create something that they know has value!

If you would like to see all that Boho Cheeks has to offer click HERE. The cover that is presented in the photos is the the Milk Thief print. We couldn't be more excited to get our little bean here with us earth side and put this car seat and cover to good use.

36 Weeks & Spammage!

If this doesn't get you excited I can't imagine what will! 36 weeks down and we have made amazing strides. From not knowing the delivery date of our little one less than 24 hours ago, mom and baby have turned around to look so good that we now get to wait it out until 40 weeks in hopes of going into labor naturally to achieve our VBAC.

Little nugget is weighing in at 6 lbs. 14 ounces and has the most kissable cheeks there ever were. It has been such a blessing to be able to watch this little one grow so closely although it was never in our plans. Baby has hair! For those who know my son.. he is nearly two and quite bald. He was actually born with a head of dark brown beautiful hair and within a week it all fell out. So as exciting as it is to hear that this one has hair as well I am fully expecting another toe head! We have dropped in these last few days, which is something that never happened with Carters pregnancy. Little achievements here and there mean so much to me as we get near the due date, just knowing that my body is working and doing all that it should be is comforting.

Daddy is out of town this week so these photos and my son will keep me company until he gets home. Then we will focus on bringing this baby into our lives any time after that! Enjoy some spam!

Flashing us the sweetest smile we ever did see!

Little one Puckering up for some long awaited kisses

Squish Face!
Sometime in the next month we will get to meet this perfect little human. That fact alone is beyond me. Your mom, dad and big brother are so excited for you to grace our lives, you are so loved.

Baby Leche Nursing Scarf

Today we have the pleasure of bringing an amazing shop and owner your way with a shop owner
interview featurning the ever wonderful Baby Leche Scarves! I was blessed beyond measure to have
been able to nurse Carter for the first 15 months of his life until he chose that he no longer wanted to
continue (yes, it was a terribly sad day for this momma) and something that I wish we were aware of
when we were nursing was this. A nursing cover that doubles as a scarf that you don't have to
remember to tote everywhere because it is on your neck already? Talk about a win win!

1.     When was Baby Leche created and what inspired your collection?
Baby Leche was created in the spring of this year. I created my own nursing scarf 2 years ago when my daughter was born. I was tired of always having to sift through my diaper bag to find something to cover  up with when she was hungry. I wanted something that would always be on me and convenient. I also felt like I had limited options of what I could wear while breastfeeding. I wanted an item that I could accessorize with my outfits and feel cute wearing. The scarf ended up being the one baby item I used every single day. When we found out we were expecting #2, I decided I wanted to improve on my initial scarf and make it available for all breastfeeding moms out there. We make our scarves out of light weight cotton muslin making it comfortable for both mama and baby.

2.     When starting out what were your goals, have you exceeded them?
We are still relatively new to the market but my goals are to reach out to the new moms all over the world and offer a product that will help make breastfeeding on the go more convenient.

3.     What about your business have you found requires most of your time and what is most rewarding?
The manufacturing process takes the most time. I wanted our scarves to be made in the USA. We work with a small manufacturer in CA and because of this the development process takes time but we are left with a very well made finished product in the end

4.     In your free time what is your favorite hobby to indulge in?
Free time is hard to come by now that #2 arrived last week. But when I do have some time to myself, I love to shop, go out for a nice dinner, or get a good work out in.

5.     If you weren’t a part of the Baby Leche team, what could you see yourself doing?
I also work from home for a brilliant interior designer. I love watching her visions for people's homes come to life. Watching her creativity helps me in my design process for Baby Leche.

6.     How do you find balance between running a business and keeping up with all of life’s moments?
It's not easy but when you are doing something you love it doesn't feel like work. I do most of my work during nap times and in the evenings. My wonderful husband also helps me keep things running smoothly.

7.     How often does Baby Leche come out with new lines/ideas/pieces?
Right now our initial like line includes scarves in 5 different colors. We plan on continuously improving and adding on to our line. Eventually we will launch new colors/patterns for each season. We would love customer feedback and suggestions on what they'd like to see from us.

8.     What are some of your favorite sales that you run in your shop?
We enjoy doing fun giveaways. We've done one so far and plan to do more in the future.

9.     Where do you see Baby Leche in 5 years from now?
I hope we are a well known brand in the baby industry giving new
moms a fun and stylish product to help them feel
more confident nursing on the go.

For convenience and style look no further, nursing mom's you have
